Avitrol Plus Praziquantel Bird Wormer Syrup Concentrate DIRECTIONS FOR USE: RESTRAINT: DO NOT USE in birds intended for human consumption CONTRAINDICATION: Not recommended for use in Gould ian finches PRECAUTIONS: Parrots and finches appear to be less tolerant than pigeons to levamisole therefore caution is urged when treating these breeds. Dilute the concentrate syrup by adding 0.5 ml (12 drops from the dropper) to 20 ml water. Use this as the sole source of drinking water for 24 hours and administer 2 doses 14 days apart. This provides a dose of 40 mg/kg bodyweight levamisole hydrochloride and 8 mg/kg praziquantel based on an average weight of 30 g and consumption of 5 mL of liquid per day. Or as directed by a veterinarian. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: Medicated drinking water should be freshly made up before dosing and be disposed of after 24 hours. Further dilution of this solution may be required in hot weather. Health Effects: Although this product contains levamisole hydrochloride at a concentration above that which is considered to be hazardous according to the classification criteria of NOHSC 1008(2004), this material is present in tablet form and the quantities of tablets are limited.
