PRECAUTIONS:
Parrots and finches appear
to
be
less tolerant
than pigeons to levamisole therefore caution
is
urged when treating these breeds.
Dilute the concentrate syrup
by
adding 0.5
ml
(12 drops from the dropper)
to
20
ml
water.
Use this as the sole source
of
drinking water
for 24 hours and administer 2 doses
14
days
apart.
This provides a dose of 40 mg/kg bodyweight
levamisole hydrochloride and 8 mg/kg
praziquantel based
on
an
average weight of
30
g and consumption
of
5 mL of liquid per day.
Or
as
directed by a veterinarian.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Medicated drinking water should
be
freshly
made up before dosing and
be
disposed of
after 24 hours.
Further dilution of this solution
may
be
required
in
hot weather.

SECTION 2 HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
This product is not classified as dangerous goods under the Australian
Dangerous Goods Code but is classified as
hazardous
according
to
the
classification
criteria
of
NOHSC:1008(2004),
Approved
Criteria
For
Classifying
Hazardous Substances and the National Code of Practice for the
Preparation of Material Safety Data Sheets 2
nd
Edition.
Health Effects:
Although this product contains levamisole hydrochloride at a
concentration above that which is considered to be
hazardous according to the classification criteria of NOHSC
1008(2004), this material is present in tablet form and
the quantities of tablets are limited. It is considered therefore that
the product does not pose a significant hazard.
Nevertheless the following information should be noted in relation to
levamisole hydrochloride:
Skin:
May cause skin irritation.
Eyes:
May cause eye irritation.
Inhalation:
May be harmful if inhaled. May cause respiratory tract and mucous
membrane irritation.
Ingestion:
Harmful if swallowed. May cause gastrointestinal/digestive tract
irritation and adversely
affect the blood, central nervous system, liver and respiration.
Chronic Potential Health Effects:

Prolonged or repeated ingestion may adversely affect metabolism,
blood, respiration,
kidneys, skin/immune system
