PREZISTA, co administered with low dose ritonavir is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral medicinal products for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV 1) infection in adult and paediatric patients from the age of 3 years and at least 15 kg body weight. PREZISTA, co administered with cobicistat is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral medicinal products for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV 1) infection in adults and adolescents (aged 12 years and older, weighing at least 40 kg). In deciding to initiate treatment with PREZISTA co administered with cobicistat or low dose ritonavir, careful consideration should be given to the treatment history of the individual patient and the patterns of mutations associated with different agents. Genotypic or phenotypic testing (when available) and treatment history should guide the use of PREZISTA. PREZISTA, co administered with low dose ritonavir is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral medicinal products for the treatment of patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV 1) infection. PREZISTA 75 mg, 150 mg, and 600 mg tablets may be used to provide suitable dose regimens:For the treatment of HIV 1 infection in antiretroviral treatment (ART) experienced adult patients, including those that have been highly pre treated. For the treatment of HIV 1 infection in paediatric patients from the age of 3 years and at least 15 kg body weight. In deciding to initiate treatment with PREZISTA co administered with low dose ritonavir, careful consideration should be given to the treatment history of the individual patient and the patterns of mutations associated with different agents. Genotypic or phenotypic testing (when available) and treatment history should guide the use of PREZISTA. PREZISTA, co administered with low dose ritonavir is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral medicinal products for the treatment of patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV 1) infection. PREZISTA 400 mg and 800 mg tablets may be used to provide suitable dose regimens for the treatment of HIV 1 infection in adult and paediatric patients from the age of 3 years and at least 40 kg body weight who are:antiretroviral therapy (ART) naïve. ART experienced with no darunavir resistance associated mutations (DRV RAMs) and who have plasma HIV 1 RNA < 100,000 copies/ml and CD4+ cell count ≥ 100 cells x 106/L. In deciding to initiate treatment with PREZISTA in such ART experienced patients, genotypic testing should guide the use of PREZISTA.

O QUE É PREZISTA E PARA QUE É UTILIZADO
O QUE É PREZISTA?
PREZISTA contém a substância ativa darunavir. PREZISTA é um
medicamento antirretroviral,
utilizado no tratamento da infeção pelo Vírus da Imunodeficiência
Humana (VIH). Pertence a um
grupo de medicamentos denominado inibidores da protease. PREZISTA atua
reduzindo a quantidade
de VIH presente no seu corpo. Desta forma, irá melhorar o seu sistema
imunológico e reduzir o risco
de desenvolvimento de doenças associadas à infeção pelo VIH.
PARA QUE É UTILIZADO?
PREZISTA é utilizado no tratamento de adultos e crianças com idade
igual ou superior a 3 anos e
com, pelo menos, 15 quilogramas de peso corporal infetados pelo VIH
(ver COMO TOMAR
PREZISTA).
PREZISTA deve ser administrado em associação com uma dose baixa de
cobicistate ou ritonavir e
outros medicamentos anti-VIH. O seu médico falará consigo sobre qual
será a associação de
medicamentos melhor para o seu caso.

COMPOSIÇÃO QUALITATIVA E QUANTITATIVA
Cada ml de suspensão oral contém 100 mg de darunavir (sob a forma de
etanolato).
Excipiente com efeito conhecido: 3,43 mg/ml de para-hidroxibenzoato de
metilo sódico (E219).

INFORMAÇÕES CLÍNICAS
4.1
INDICAÇÕES TERAPÊUTICAS
PREZISTA coadministrado com dose baixa de ritonavir é indicado, em
associação com outros
medicamentos antirretrovirais, no tratamento da infeção pelo Vírus
da Imunodeficiência Humana
(VIH-1) em doentes adultos e em doentes pediátricos a partir dos 3
anos de idade e com pelo menos
15 kg de peso corporal (ver secção 4.2).
PREZISTA coadministrado com cobicistate é indicado, em associação
com outros medicamentos
antirretrovirais, no tratamento da infeção pelo Vírus da
Imunodeficiência Humana 1 (VIH-1) em
adultos e adolescentes (com idade igual ou superior a 12 anos, e com
peso corporal de, pelo menos,
40 kg) (ver secção 4.2).
Quando se opta por iniciar o tratamento com PREZISTA, administrado em
associação com cobicistate
ou uma dose baixa de ritonavir, deve prestar-se particular atenção
à história terapêutica de cada doente
e aos padrões de mutações associados aos diferentes fármacos. Os
testes genotípicos ou fenotípicos
(quando disponíveis) e a história terapêutica devem orientar a
utilização de PREZISTA (ver
secção 4.2, 4.4 e 5.1).
4.2
POSOLOGIA E MODO DE ADMINISTRAÇÃO
A terapêutica deve ser iniciada por um prestador de cuidados de
saúde com experiência no tratamento
da infeção pelo VIH. Após o início da terapêutica com PREZISTA,
os doentes devem ser
aconselhados a não alterar a dose, a forma de apresentação ou
descontinuar o tratamento, sem
consultar o seu prestador de cuidados de saúde.
