1. COS’È CETILSAN E A COSA SERVE
CETILSAN contiene il principio attivo cetilpiridinio cloruro che
appartiene ad un gruppo di medicinali chiamati
antisettici che impediscono o bloccano la crescita dei batteri.
Questo medicinale è indicato come disinfettante della mucosa della
bocca e della gola.
Si rivolga al medico se non si sente meglio o se si sente peggio dopo
un breve periodo di trattamento.
2. COSA DEVE SAPERE PRIMA DI PRENDERE CETILSAN
NON PRENDA CETILSAN:

se è allergico al principio attivo o ad uno qualsiasi degli altri
componenti di questo medicinale (elencati al
paragrafo 6);

se la persona che deve prendere questo medicinale è un bambino al di
sotto dei 12 anni (vedere il
paragrafo “Bambini”).

CETILSAN 3 mg Sugar free lozenges
1 lozenge contains
Drug substance: cetylpyridinium chloride 3.00 mg
_Excipients with known effects: Sorbitol _

4. CLINICAL INFORMATION
4.1 THERAPEUTIC INFORMATION
Disinfection of oral mucosa.
4.2 POSOLOGY AND WAY OF ADMINISTRATION
CETILSAN 3 mg Sugar free lozenges
A lozenge every 3-4 hours, allowing the lozenge to dissolve slowly in
mouth, with a maximum of 6 lozenges
per day. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
4.3 CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance(s) or to any of the
excipients listed in section 6.1
- Do not use on children under 6 years.
4.4 SPECIAL CAUTIONS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Do not use for prolonged treatments. After a brief period without
benefits a doctor or pharmacist must be
consulted. The accidental ingestion or inhalation of some
disinfectants may have serious consequences, in
some cases resulting in death. Avoid contact with eyes

This medicine contains 900 mg sorbitol per dose. Sorbitol is a source
of fructose. Patients with rare
hereditary problems of fructose intolerance should not take this
medicine.
The additive effect of co-administration of medicines containing
sorbitol (or fructose) and daily dietary intake
of sorbitol (or fructose) should be considered.
The content of sorbitol in oral medicinal products may modify the
bioavailability of other co-administered oral
medicinal products.
4.5 INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCTS AND OTHER WAYS OF
INTERACTION
Avoid the concomitant use of other antiseptics and soaps.
4.6 PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
No data are available on use of cetylpyridinium chloride during
pregnancy.
During pregnancy and lactation this medicine has to be used only in
case of need and under direct control of
a doctor.
