WHAT _ZYLOVAA_ IS USED FOR
It is used to:

treat
high
blood
pressure
(hypertension)

Reduce the risk of stroke in patients
with
high
blood
pressure
and
thickening of the left ventricle (one of
two large chambers that collect and
expel blood received in the heart).

Protect the kidney in diabetic patients
(Type 2, Non-insulin dependent) with
high blood pressure.
HOW _ZYLOVAA_ WORKS
Losartan
is
in
a
group
of
medicines
known
as
angiotensin-II
receptor
antagonists.
Angiotensin-II
is
the
hormone
that
binds
to
the
receptor
in
blood vessels, where results in narrowing
of blood vessels and subsequently raises
blood
pressure.
Losartan
inhibits
the
binding
of
angiotensin-II
to
these
receptors.
BEFORE YOU USE _ZYLOVAA_

Do not take Zylovaa if you:

are
allergic
(hypersensitive)
to
Losartan Potassium or any ingredients
in this medicine.

are pregnant or plan to pregnant.

are
breast-feeding
or
plan
to
start
breast-feeding.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you:

are
allergic
(hypersensitivity)
to
Losartan Potassium or any ingredients
in this medicine.

have low blood pressure

have
high
potassium
levels
in
your
blood

have liver or kidney impairment

have history of angioedema (swelling
of face, eyes, lips, tongue)

are taking diuretics (drug that tends to
increase discharge of urine).

Tell your doctor if you are taking any
other
