REFER TO RELEVANT PRODUCT DATA SHEET BEFORE MIXING OR APPLICATION OF
COATINGS.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
RESTRAINTS: DO NOT use on aluminium
hulls or stern drives.
SURFACE PREPARATION: AF 3000 Antifouling
paint is designed to overcoat Altex Coatings Bottom
Systems. AF 3000 Antifouling is compatible with a
wide range of anticorrosive and antifouling paints.
Its use over products other than Altex Coatings
Bottom Systems should be referred to Resene Paints
(Australia) Limited for specific recommendations. If
AF 3000 Antifouling is applied over an epoxy hull
coating, it must be applied before the epoxy has fully
cured hard, i.e. when the epoxy is tack free but still
soft to finger nail pressure. For the repainting of
existing antifouling and to facilitate bottom cleaning
we recommend high pressure water blast cleaning
(5000 p.s.i. minimum) and wash with Devprep 88
diluted 1 part to 10 parts water. It is recommended
that after 3 to 4 repaints that the old antifouling
coatings be removed and then repaint the hull with
Altex Coatings Bottom System and AF 3000
Antifouling as above.
MIXING AND THINNING: Stir thoroughly before
use. AF 3000 Antifouling does not require thinning,
except possibly in hot windy conditions. If thinned,
additional coats may be required to attain correct
film thickness. Film thickness is
critical to the
performance life of the coating.
APPLICATION: Apply 2 coats to achieve a
minimum total dry film thickness of 200 microns.
AF 3000 Antifouling can be brushed, rolled and air
sprayed, however, it is strongly recommended that
application is by heavy duty airless spray equipment
(pump ratio 30:1, tip size .021 to .025). For
multicoat application of AF 3000 Antifouling use
contrasting colours as a further assurance that the
proper film thickness is applied. Film thickness control
is
critical. NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE OR IN
ANY MANNER CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS
AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION.
Poisonous if swallowed. Will irritate the eyes, and
skin. Avoid breathing dust, vapour or spray mist.
