zoetis belgium sa - selamectin - antiparasitaire middelen, insecticiden en insectenwerende middelen, endectocides, macrocyclische lactonen, - dogs; cats - katten en honden: behandeling en preventie van vlooien infecties veroorzaakt door ctenocephalides spp. gedurende één maand na een enkele toediening. dit is het gevolg van de adulticidal, larvicidal en ovicidal eigenschappen van het product. het product is drie weken na toediening ovicide. door een vermindering van de vlooienpopulatie zal maandelijkse behandeling van drachtige en melkgevende dieren ook helpen bij de preventie van vlooieninfestaties in het nest tot een leeftijd van zeven weken. het product kan worden gebruikt als onderdeel van een behandelingsstrategie voor dermatitis door vlooienallergie en door zijn ovicide en larvicide werking kan het helpen bij de bestrijding van bestaande milieuvlooienbesmettingen in gebieden waartoe het dier toegang heeft. preventie van hartwormziekte veroorzaakt door dirofilaria immitis met maandelijkse toediening. stronghold kan veilig worden toegediend aan dieren die zijn geïnfecteerd met volwassen hartwormen, maar het wordt aanbevolen, in overeenstemming met goede veterinaire praktijk, dat alle dieren van zes maanden of ouder die in landen wonen waar een vector bestaat, moeten worden getest op bestaande volwassen hartworminfecties voordat medicatie starten met stronghold. het wordt ook aanbevolen dat honden periodiek worden getest op hartworminfecties bij volwassenen, als een integraal onderdeel van een preventieprotocol voor hartworm, zelfs als stronghold maandelijks wordt toegediend. dit product is niet effectief tegen volwassen d. immitis. behandeling van oormijt (otodectes cynotis). katten:behandeling van bijtende luizen parasitaire aandoeningen (felicola subrostratustreatment van de volwassen spoelwormen (toxocara cati)behandeling van volwassen intestinale hookworms (ancylostoma tubaeforme). honden:behandeling van bijtende luizen parasitaire aandoeningen (trichodectes canis)behandeling van sarcoptic schurft (veroorzaakt door sarcoptes scabiei)behandeling van volwassen intestinale spoelwormen (toxocara canis).
