merck sharp & dohme b.v. - daptomycine - gram-positive bacterial infections; bacteremia; soft tissue infections; endocarditis, bacterial - antibacteriële middelen voor systemisch gebruik, - cubicin is geïndiceerd voor de behandeling van de volgende infecties. volwassen en kinderen (1 tot en met 17 jaar) patiënten met gecompliceerde huid en weke delen infecties (cssti). volwassen patiënten met rechts-zijdig infectieuze endocarditis (rie) veroorzaakt door staphylococcus aureus. het is aanbevolen dat de beslissing om gebruik te maken daptomycin rekening moet houden met de antibacteriële gevoeligheid van het organisme en moet gebaseerd zijn op deskundig advies. volwassen en kinderen (1 tot 17 jaar) patiënten met staphylococcus aureus bacteriemie (sab). bij volwassenen, gebruik in een bacteriemie geassocieerd dient te worden met rie of met cssti, terwijl bij pediatrische patiënten, gebruik in een bacteriemie geassocieerd dient te worden met cssti. daptomycin is actief tegen gram-positieve bacteriën alleen. in de gemengde infecties waar de gram-negatieve en/of van bepaalde soorten anaërobe bacteriën worden verdacht, cubicin moet samen worden toegediend met geschikte antibacteriële agent(s). aandacht moet worden gegeven aan de officiële richtlijnen betreffende het juiste gebruik van antibacteriële agentia.
