(50% Tylosin Phosphate)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
White to pale yellow colour powder, which contains
500mg of tylosin phosphate per gram.
PHARMACODYNAMICS & PHARMACOKINETICS
Tylosin
has
the
same
mechanism
of
antibiotic
action as other macrolides, that is, binding to the
50S
ribosome
fraction,
resulting
in
inhibition
of
protein
synthesis. Tylosin
has
a
dominant
bacteriostatic activity.
Tylosin
is
widely
distributed
in
the
body
after
absorption
but
does
not
cross
the
blood-brain
barrier. It is eliminated by the urinary tract and bile
unchanged. The half-life of elimination of tylosin is
of the order of one to two hours depending on the
animal species.
