The Adaptor taper is intended to be coupled to SMR Humeral Heads presents a hexagonal hole to allow the coupling with the counter torque for a humeral head adaptor to maintain stability with the component while screwing the adapter screw during anatomic surgery. The screw provides additional fixation preventing lever forces that could disassemble the humeral adaptor from the humeral core. The SMR stemless Anatomic humeral head adaptor is intended to be coupled with the SMR humeral head and is part of the system indicated for partial or total primary or revision shoulder joint replacement in patients suffering from disability due to non-inflammatory degenerative joint disease including osteoarthritis and avascular necrosis; inflammatory degenerative joint disease such as rheumatoid arthritis; revision of a failed SMR resurfacing implant.
