WHAT OLANZAPINE GH IS USED FOR
The name of your medicine is Olanzapine GH. Olanzapine GH contains olanzapine as the active
ingredient.
Olanzapine belong to a group of medicines called antipsychotics. Olanzapine GH helps to correct chemical
imbalances in the brain which may cause mental illness.
Olanzapine GH is used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia and related psychoses. Schizophrenia
is a mental
illness with disturbances in thinking, feeling and behavior.
Olanzapine GH alone, or in combination with lithium or valproate, is also used for the short-term treatment or
preventing
recurrence of acute manic episodes associated with bipolar
I disorder, an illness where the patient
experiences episodes of overactivity, elation or
irritability.

DESCRIPTION
Olanzapine is a yellow crystalline solid that
is practically insoluble in water. Each tablet
of OLANZAPINE GH contains olanzapine 2.5 mg, 5.0
mg, 7.5 mg or 10 mg.
OLANZAPINE GH contains the following inactive ingredients: lactose anhydrous,
microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose and magnesium
stearate.

PHARMACODYNAMIC PROPERTIES
Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic, antimanic and
mood-stabilising agent that
demonstrates a broad pharmacological profile across a
number of receptor systems.
In preclinical studies, olanzapine exhibited
a range of receptor affinities (Ki <100
nanomol) for serotonin 5HT
