WHAT K-WORM CHOC CHEWTAB
IS USED
FOR
K-WORM Choc Chewtab is used for the

K-WORM Choc Chewtab contains
Albendazole exhibits vermicidal, ovacidal
and larvacidal activities. It inhibits tubulin
polymerization in anthelmint and thus
depletes their energy level until they
become inadequate for survival.
BEFORE YOU USE K-WORM CHOC
CHEWTAB
_- When you must not take it _
Do not take this product if you are allergic
(hypersensitivity) to Albendazole, other
benzimidazole derivatives or any other
ingredients in this product.
_- Before you start to use it _
Should not be administered during
confirmed or suspected pregnancy.
Use with caution during lactation as extent
of excretion from breast milk is not known.
_- Taking other medicines _
Plasma concentration of the active
metabolite of Albendazole is raised when
administered concomitantly with
Dexamethasone, Praziquantel and
Cimetidine.
HOW TO TAKE K-WORM CHOC CHEWTAB
_- How much to take _
For pinworm, whipworm, roundworm and
hookworm infestation:
Adults & children above 2 years: Chew 2
tablets as a single dose.
Children 1 to 2 years: Chew 1 tablet as a
single dose.
For tapeworm and threadworm infestation:
Adults & children above 2 years: Chew 2
tablets once daily for 3 consecutives
days.
_- When to take it _
Can be taken before or after food.
_- How long to take it _
Take as directed by your doctor or
pharmacist.
_- If you forget to take it _
If you forget to take K-WORM Choc
Chewtab, take it as soon as you
remember.
Never double up on the next
dose to make up for the one missed.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT:
Each tablet contains -
Albendazole ..... 200mg
PRESENTATION:
Box of 2’s
PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS:
Brown coloured, chocolate flavoured, round and flat uncoated tablet.
PHARMACOLOGY:
Albendazole exhibits vermicidal, ovacidal and larvacidal activities.
It inhibits
tubulin polymerization in anthelmints and thus depletes their energy
level until
they become inadequate for survival.
Albendazole is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, but
rapidly
undergoes
extensive
first
-
pass
metabolism.
The
main
metabolite,
albendazole sulfoxide, which is widely distributed in the body
especially in the
bile and the CSF, has anthelmintic activity and have a plasma
half-life of 8.5
hours. It is approximately 70% protein-bound to the plasma protein. It
is then
mainly eliminated in the bile while a small amount is excreted in the
urine.
INDICATIONS:
For the treatment of single or mixed infestations of intestinal
parasites.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For pinworm, whipworm, roundworm and hookworm infestation:
Adults & children above 2 years:
Chew 2 tablets as a single dose.
Children 1 to 2 years:
Chew 1 tablet as a single dose.
For tapeworm and threadworm infestation:
Adults & children above 2 years:
Chew 2 tablets once daily for 3 consecutive days.
SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT OF OVERDOSE:
Symptoms: Gastrointestinal symptoms may occur in Albendazole overdose
such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain.
Treatment: Gastric lavage may be performed in first 2 to 3 hours after
ingestion and other supportive and symptomatic treatment may be
carried out
if necessary.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Person who exhibits hypersensitivity to the drug or other
benzimidazole
derivatives. Should not be administered during confirmed or suspected
pregnancy.
PRECAUTIONS:
All family members and others in close contact should be treated at
the same
time to prevent reinfestations.
If infestations persist or reoccur, please consult a doctor.
