WHAT DEXATROL IS USED FOR
Dexatrol is an eye drop. This medicine is
used to treat inflammation of the eye.
HOW DEXATROL WORKS
Dexatrol
contains
dexamethasone,
a
corticosteroid or anti-inflammatory agent
that will help to relieve inflammation and
redness.
It
also
contains
2
antibiotics,
neomycin and polymyxin B sulphate to
further prevent eye infection.
BEFORE YOU USE DEXATROL

_When you must not use it_
Do not use Dexatrol if:
•
You have any type of infection of the
eye that is not being treated.
•
If you have a red eye that has not been
seen by a doctor.
•
If you are allergic to neomycin or to
any of the other ingredients of Dexatrol.
_Pregnancy and lactation_
Do not take Dexatrol if you are pregnant,
trying to get pregnant or think you may
be pregnant.
Do not take Dexatrol if you are breast-
feeding. Ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before taking any medicine.

_Before you start use it_
You should check with your doctor:
•
If you have a red eye
•
If you have a disorder causing a
thinning of the eye tissues
•
If you are allergic to any type of
antibiotics

_Taking other medicines_
Tell your doctor if you are taking any
other medicines, including any that you
buy without a prescription from a
pharmacy, supermarket or health food
shop.
Taking Dexatrol with other medicines
may increase the seriousness of the side
effects. Tell your doctor if you are using
any
topical
Nonsteroidal
Anti-
inflammatory
Drugs
(NSAIDs).
Simultaneous
use
of
topical
steroids
and
topical
NSAIDs
may
increase
healing problems in your eye.
