DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
BY LAW THE USER MUST TAKE DUE CARE, OBTAINING EXPERT ADVICE WHEN
NECESSARY, TO AVOID UNNECESSARY
PAIN AND DISTRESS WHEN USING THE PRODUCT OTHER THAN AS DIRECTED ON THE
LABEL.
Do not remove pack from overpouch until just before use. Warm solution
to body temperature.
Disinfect injection site. Snap tip off plug, and ensure solution can
flow freely.
Discard any unused portion within 24 hours.
CATTLE
INTRAVENOUS INJECTION
Intravenous use of metabolic solutions may be hazardous to the animal,
and advice from a veterinarian
should be sought before administration.
While occluding the jugular vein below the site for injection, insert
the needle and ensure that blood flow is
found. Connect draw-off tube to needle and elevate the pouch. Inject
SLOWLY, up to 500 mL of MINJECT.
CATTLE & SHEEP
SUBCUTANEOUS INJECTION (under the skin).
Injection is to be given in the anterior half of the neck or over the
ribcage. Connect needle to draw-off tube
and inset needle through skin. Gently squeeze the bag to inject the
solution. Large volumes should be
distributed over more than one injection site. Areas may be massaged
following injection, to promote
quicker absorption of solution.
For subcutaneous treatment with MINJECT, inject 500 mL for cattle and
70 - 80 mL for sheep.
If symptoms persist, repeat dose in 4 to 6 hours. If the animal does
not completely recover, seek veterinary
advice.
WITHHOLDING PERIOD
Nil
HANDLING PRECAUTIONS:
Boric acid may possibly affect development and/or reproduction. Take
care to avoid accidental injection
