DESCRIPTION Pollens - pure dry pollens are defatted in ether and extracted in an aqueous buffered solution. Plants belonging to the Graminae family are often prolific producers of anemophilus pollens and are an important cause of allergies in dogs especially in late spring. Some weeds produce similar pollens. Tree pollens often have a shorter pollen season but different members of the acacia family may flower over much of the year. Fungi - Fungal antigens are extracts of the cells and spores of pure culture fungi, moulds, yeasts, rusts and smuts. Indoor fungi are present all year round while outdoor fungi are most common in autumn or during periods of high humidity. Epidermal extracts are made from the hair, hide or feathers and contain natural dander. Insects - are made from whole bodies of insects either collected in their natural environment or (as in the case of house dust mites) grown in laboratory colonies. Preservatives - Aqueous extracts contain 0.4% phenol as an antimicrobial preservative. ACTION Allergens interact with specific Immunoglobulin E on the surface of dermal mast cells. This results in degranulation of those cells קרא את המסמך השלם
