WHAT FLUMAZENIL ALTAN IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
FLUMAZENIL ALTAN has a reverse action and neutralizes the effects of
benzodiazepines (used by their sedative, muscle-relaxant and
counter-seizures
effects) and belongs to the group of antidotes. Its action consists of
the
interruption of nerve conduction produced by benzodiazepines competing
with
such conduction when connected to nervous system receptors.
FLUMAZENIL
ALTAN
is
used
for
completely
or
partially
reversing
the
suppressant effects of benzodiazepines. Therefore, it can therefore be
used as
follows:
In anaesthesia
-
In general anaesthesia brought on (induced) produced by
benzodiazepines
in hospitalised patients.
-
To
terminate
their
sleep-inducing
or
sedative
effects
produced
by
benzodiazepines in patients under diagnosis / disease identification
tests
or under short treatment either outpatients and hospitalised patients.
Intensive Care Units
-
To reverse benzodiazepine effects in the Central Nervous System and to
restore spontaneous breathing.
For the diagnosis and treatment of intoxication or overdose
exclusively as a result
of benzodiazepines.
