Avandamet is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus : as dual combination therapy in patients who are already treated with combination rosiglitazone and metformin or who are not adequately controlled on metformin alone or in triple oral therapy with sulphonylurea in patients with insufficient glycaemic control despite dual oral therapy with their maximally tolerated dose of metformin and a sulphonylurea.
