1. CHE COS’E’ OLAFID E A CHE COSA SERVE
OLAFID fa parte di un gruppo di farmaci detti antipsicotici ed è
usato per curare le seguenti condizioni:
•
La schizofrenia, una
malattia con sintomi come udire, vedere o provare cose che non
esistono,
convinzioni errate, sospettosità ingiustificata e ritiro sociale. Le
persone che presentano questa
malattia possono inoltre sentirsi depresse, ansiose o tese.
•
L’episodio di mania da moderato a grave, una condizione
caratterizzata da sintomi di
eccitazione o di euforia.
OLAFID ha dimostrato di prevenire il ripetersi di questi sintomi in
pazienti con disturbo bipolare il
cui episodio di mania ha risposto al trattamento con olanzapina

2. COMPOSIZIONE QUALITATIVA E QUANTITATIVA
Ogni compressa contiene 2,5 mg di olanzapina.

3. FORMA FARMACEUTICA
COMPRESSA
Compressa di colore giallo chiaro, rotonda, biconvessa con impresso
“OPN” e “2.5” su un lato e "bza"
sull’altro lato.
4. INFORMAZIONI CLINICHE
4.1 INDICAZIONI TERAPEUTICHE
_Adulti_
Olanzapina è indicata per il trattamento della schizofrenia.
Nei pazienti che hanno dimostrato risposta positiva al trattamento
iniziale, il proseguimento della terapia con
olanzapina consente di mantenere il miglioramento clinico.
Olanzapina è indicata per il trattamento dell'episodio di mania da
moderato a grave.
Nei pazienti in cui l’episodio maniacale ha risposto al trattamento
con olanzapina, l’olanzapina è indicata per
la prevenzione dei nuovi episodi di malattia in pazienti con disturbo
bipolare (vedere paragrafo 5.1).
4.2 POSOLOGIA E MODO DI SOMMINISTRAZIONE
_Adulti_
Schizofrenia: Il dosaggio iniziale raccomandato di olanzapina è 10
mg/die.
Episodio di mania: Il dosaggio iniziale è 15 mg da somministrare in
un'unica dose giornaliera in monoterapia
o 10 mg/die in terapia combinata (vedere paragrafo 5.1).
Prevenzione delle recidive nel disturbo bipolare: il dosaggio iniziale
raccomandato è 10 mg/die. Nei pazienti
che stanno ricevendo olanzapina per il trattamento dell’episodio
maniacale, continuare la terapia per la
prevenzione delle recidiveallo stesso dosaggio. Se si verifica un
nuovo episodio depressivo, maniacale, o
misto, il trattamento con olanzapina deve essere continuato
(ottimizzando la dose in base alle necessità), con
una terapia supplementare per trattare i disturbi dell’umore, come
clinicamente indicato.
Durante il trattamento della schizofrenia, dell'episodio di mania e
durante la prevenzione dellerecidive nel
disturbo bipolare, il dosaggio giornaliero può successivamente essere
aggiustato entro un intervallo d
