WHAT RIZATRIPTAN STADA IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Rizatriptan STADA belongs to a class of medicines called selective
serotonin 5-HT
1B/1D
recep-
tor agonists.
Your doctor has prescribed Rizatriptan STADA to treat the headache
phase of your migraine
attack. Rizatriptan STADA should not be used prophylactically.
Treatment with Rizatriptan STADA reduces swelling of blood vessels
surrounding the brain.
This swelling results in the headache pain of a migraine attack.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE RIZATRIPTAN STADA
DO NOT TAKE RIZATRIPTAN STADA IF
•
you are allergic to rizatriptan benzoate, menthol or any of the other
ingredients of this med-
icine (listed in section 6).
•
you have moderately severe or severe high blood pressure or mild high
blood pressure that
is not controlled by medication
•
you have or have ever had heart problems including heart attack or
pain on the chest (an-
gina) or you have experienced heart disease related signs
•
you have severe liver or severe kidney problems
•
you have had a stroke (cerebrovascular accident,

2. QUALITATIVE UND QUANTITATIVE ZUSAMMENSETZUNG
_Rizatriptan AL 5 mg Schmelztabletten _
1 Schmelztablette enthält 5 mg Rizatriptan als Rizatriptanbenzoat
Sonstige Bestandteile mit bekannter Wirkung:
1 Schmelztablette enthält 2,90 mg Menthol-Aroma, PHS 132975,
Givaudan.
Rizatriptan AL enthält weniger als 1 mmol (23 mg) Natrium pro
Tablette.

1 Schmelztablette enthält 10 mg Rizatriptan als Rizatriptanbenzoat.
Sonstige Bestandteile mit bekannter Wirkung:

Schmelztablette

Runde, flache, weiße bis weißliche Schmelztablette von 8 mm
Durchmesser mit
abgeschrägten Kanten.
_Rizatriptan AL 10 mg Schmelztabletten _
Runde, flache, weiße bis weißliche Schmelztablette von 10 mm
Durchmesser
mit abgeschrägten Kanten.
4. KLINISCHE ANGABEN
4.1 ANWENDUNGSGEBIETE
Akute Behandlung der Kopfschmerzphase von Migräneanfällen mit oder
ohne
Aura.
Rizatriptan AL sollte nicht prophylaktisch angewendet werden.
4.2 DOSIERUNG UND ART DER ANWENDUNG
_DOSIERUNG _
Erwachsene (über 18 Jahren):
Die empfohlene Dosis beträgt 10 mg Rizatriptan.
_Einnahme weiterer Dosen _
Einzeldosen sollten mindestens 2 Stunden auseinander liegen; insgesamt
sollten nicht mehr als 2 Einzeldosen Rizatriptan innerhalb von 24
Stunden
eingenommen werden.
•
Wiederkehr der Kopfschmerzen innerhalb von 24 Stunden: Falls die
Kopfschmerzen nach dem ersten Ansprechen auf das Arzneimittel wieder
auftreten, kann eine zweite Dosis eingenommen werden. Die oben
genannten Dosierungsbeschränkungen sollten beachtet werden.
