COMPOSITION
Each tablet contains:
Teriflunomide
14 mg

1. WHAT IS THE MEDICINE INTENDED FOR?
Teriflunomide Teva contains the active substance teriflunomide which
is a substance that affects the immune system by limiting its attack
on
the nervous system.
Teriflunomide Teva is intended for treatment of adults with relapsing-
remitting multiple sclerosis in order to decrease the rate of attacks
and
to slow down the progression of disability.
WHAT IS MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS?
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic illness that affects the central
nervous system (CNS). The central nervous system is composed of the
brain and the spinal cord.
In multiple sclerosis, inflammation destroys the protecting cover
(called
Myelin) around nerve fibers in the central nervous system. Loss of
Myelin is called demyelination and it impairs the normal function of
the
nerves.
