EN - FOOD FOR SPECIAL MEDICAL PURPOSES
For the dietary management of phenylketonuria (PKU) from 6 months to
10
years of age.
PKU squeezie™ is an apple & banana flavoured ready-to-feed
phenylalanine
free* protein substitute containing essential and non-essential amino
acids,
carbohydrate, sugar, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, arachidonic
acid
(ARA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
RECOMMENDED INTAKE AND ADMINISTRATION
To be determined by the clinician or dietitian and is dependent on the
age,
body weight and medical condition of the patient.
PREPARATION GUIDELINES
1. Shake well.
2. Consume from spoon or direct from pouch.
3. Roll and squeeze to empty pouch.
Water or permitted drinks should be taken after PKU squeezie.
Any remaining product; if not refrigerated must be discarded within 1
hour.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Use under medical supervision.
Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition.
Suitable from 6 months to 10 years of age.
Must only be consumed by children with PKU.
Diet must be supplemented with natural protein, water and other
nutrients
in prescribed quantities to supply phenylalanine, fluid and general
nutritional requirements.
For enteral use only.
For infants under 12 months:
Infants and young children should be supervised at all times when
feeding.
Regular teeth cleaning is recommended.
STORAGE
Store in a cool, dry place.
Once opened, consume immediately or recap, refrigerate and use within
24
hours.
Packaged in a protective atmosphere.
