WHAT HORALAX IS USED FOR
HoraLAX is used
•
as osmotic laxative
•
to relieve occasional constipation
(irregularity)
•
to produce bowel movement.
HOW HORALAX WORKS
Polyethylene Glycol 3350 is an osmotic
agent which causes water to be retained
with the stool.
BEFORE YOU USE HORALAX
_- When you must not use it _

Do not take this medicine if:
•
you
have
known
or
suspected
bowel obstruction
•
you
are
hypersensitive
to
polyethylene glycol.
If you are not sure whether you should
start taking this medicine, talk to your
pharmacist or doctor.
_- Before you start to use it _

Tell your doctor if:

you
have
symptoms
of
bowel
obstruction
(nausea,
vomiting,
abdominal pain or swelling).

shown.
HOW TO USE HORALAX
_- How much to use _
Follow all directions given to you by
your doctor and pharmacist carefully.
They may differ from the information
contained in this leaflet. If you do not
understand the instructions on the label,
ask your doctor or pharmacist for help.
The usual dose is 17 grams (about 1
heaping tablespoonful) of powder per
day (or as directed by physician) in 4 -
8 ounces of water, juice, soda, coffee,
or tea.

You should try to take your daily dose
at about the same time each day.

required to produce a bowel movement.
