Package Insert NERVON TABLET COMPOSITION: Each tablet contains: Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B 1) 100mg Pyridoxine HCl (Vitamin B 6) 200mg Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B 12) 200mcg DESCRIPTION: A pink color round shaped film coated tablet with 11mm diameter. PHARMACOLOGY: B1, B6 and B12 are important vitamins essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system. They are required for the normal metabolic processes of nerve cells. Nervon, as the logical and scientific treatment of nerve degeneration, its associated symptoms and as an adjuvant with NSAIDs to potentiate their analgesic effect with reduced treatment and lesser side effects. PHARMACOKINETIC: Thiamine, Pyridoxine and Cyanocobalamin are absorbed from gastrointestinal tract. Thiamine is widely distributed to most body tissue; it is not stored in the body. Thiamine is excreted in urine as unchanged form or as its metabolites, pyrimidine. Pyridoxine is converted to its active form pyridoxal phosphate and transformed to pyridoxic acid which is excreted in the urine. Cyanocobalamin is bound to plasma proteins and stored in the liver. It is excreted in the bile and undergoes some enterohepatic recycling. It is also excreted in urine. INDICATION: Nervon is indicated for neurological and other disorders associated with disturbance of the metabolic functions influenced by B complex vitamins, including diabetic polyneurophathy alcoholic peripheral neuritis polyneurophathy of pregnancy toxaemia of pregnancy nausea and vomiting of pregnancy post-influenzal neuropathies Nervon is also recommended for the treatment of neuritis and neuralgia of the spinal nerves, especially facial paresis, cervical syndrome, low back pain, ischialgia, etc. CONTRAINDICATION: Known hypersensitivity to vitamins B 1 , B 6 or B 12 . Should not be used in patients on Levodopa therapy. DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS: Take 1 tablet 2-3 times daily to treat moderate cases. The coated tablets are swallowed unchewed with liquid or after meals.
