IN DOGS:   
  treatment of infected wounds  and abscesses 
  treatment of lower urinary  tract infections due to _Escherichia coli_ and _Proteus mirabilis_ 
  prevention  of  surgical  infections  due  to  _Staphylococcus  intermedius,  Escherichia_  _coli_  and
