PART II SUMMARY OF PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS 1 NAME OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT Galpseud 60mg Tablets 2 QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION Each tablet contains: Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride 60.0 mg For excipients, see section 6.1. 3 PHARMACEUTICAL FORM Tablets Round, convex, white tablets embossed with 'Gal' on one side and '60' on the other. 4 CLINICAL PARTICULARS 4.1 THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS As a nasal decongestant in the symptomatic relief of conditions such as the common cold and influenza and the short term relief of allergic and vasomotor rhinitis. 4.2 POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINSTRATION For oral administration. _Adults and children over 12 years:_ The usual dose is one tablet (60mg) three times daily. 4.3 CONTRAINDICATIONS Use in patients hypersensitive to the active ingredient. Use in patients who are receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors or who have received these within the previous 14 days. Use in patients with severe hypertension or severe coronary artery disease. Use in patients with severe renal impairment. Use concurrently with furazolidone. 4.4 SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE The product should be used only with caution in patients with renal impairment, prostatic hypertrophy, thyrotoxicosis, glaucoma or urinary retention.
