For the treatment of otitis externa and dermatosis in dogs and cats.

Contraindications:
Not to be used where there is perforation of the eardrum.
Not to be used concomitantly with products known to be ototoxic.
Not to be used in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active
constituents.
Not recommended in pregnant or lactating animals.
Precautions:
Side Effects:
Allergy or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. On very rare
occasions and primarily in
geriatric animals, use of auricular preparations may be associated
with hearing impairment
which may be either transient or prolonged. If you notice any serious
effects or other effects
not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your veterinary surgeon. RLP APPROVED
Dosage and
Administration:
Shake well before using. Use the contents within 3 months of first
broaching the vial/
container. Discard the unused portion.
5-10 drops of Canaural should be instilled into the ear canal twice
daily. The ear flap should
then be held and the ear canal gently massaged to ensure maximum
penetration of the
preparation. In the case of dermatosis it should be applied to the
affected area.
The length of treatment will depend upon the individual case. Ensure
all visible discharge
from treated animals is hygienically removed.
Wash hands thoroughly after use of this product or contact with any
discharge from the
ears of treated animals.

PROPERTIES:
Canaural Compositum is specifically formulated for the
treatment of otitis externa in the dog and cat.
Diethanolamine Fusidate is an antibiotic which is highly active
against _Staphylococci_, the most commonly found bacterial
pathogen in otitis externa in the dog and cat.
Diethanolamine Fusidate has skin penetrating properties which
enhances its antibacterial activity.
Framycetin Sulphate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which has
been incorporated for its activity against gram negative organisms
associated with otitis externa, in particular _Pseudomonas_ spp.
and _Proteus_ spp.
Nystatin is highly active against fungi such as _Malassezia _
_pachydermatis_. _Malassezia_ is the most common fungi associated
with otitis externa in the do
