Ketifen
IS USED FOR
Ketifen is used to treat various allergic
conditions such as rhinitis (inflammation
of the mucous membranes in the nose),
conjunctivitis (inflammation of the
mucous membranes in the eye), and
prophylactic treatment for bronchial
asthma.
HOW
Ketifen
WORKS
Ketifen contains medicine called
ketotifen. It is an antihistamine that
inhibits the body’s release of chemical
called histamine. Histamine can produce
allergy symptoms such as sneezing,
runny nose and watery eyes.

_When you must not use it _
Do not use Ketifen if you are allergic
(hypersensitive) to ketotifen or any
components of the preparations.

_Pregnancy and lactation _
Do not take Ketifen if you are pregnant,
trying to get pregnant or think you may
be pregnant.
Do not take Ketifen if you are breast-
feeding. Ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before taking any medicine.

Read this entire leaflet carefully before
you start taking this medicine.

_Taking other medicines _
Tell your doctor if you are taking any
other medicines, including any that
you buy without a prescription from a
pharmacy, supermarket or health food
shop.
Especially, sedatives, hypnotics,
antihistamines and alcohol.
HOW TO USE

_How much to use _
Follow all directions given to you by
your doctor and pharmacist carefully.
They may differ from the information
contained in this leaflet. If you do not
understand the instructions on the
label, ask your doctor or pharmacist
for help.
Children:
3 years and above: 5ml twice daily.
6 months- 3 years: 2.5ml twice daily.
