EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE
This medicine suppresses cough by acting directly on cough center of
medulla oblongata to
control cough reflex, and binds to opioid receptor to exert analgesic
action and suppress
intestinal peristalsis to suppress diarrhea.
It is usually used for antitussive and sedative in various respiratory
diseases, analgesic in pain
and improvement of severe diarrhea symptoms.
THE FOLLOWING PATIENTS MAY NEED TO BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS
MEDICINE.BE SURE TO TELL YOUR DOCTOR
AND PHARMACIST.
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch,
rash, etc.) to any medicines
or foods.
If you have: respiratory depression, bronchial asthma attack, liver
dysfunction, heart failure
secondary to chronic lung disease, convulsive conditions, acute
alcoholism, hemorrhagic
colitis, or bacterial diarrhea.
・If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may
interact to enhance or
diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and
dietary supplements
as well as other prescription medicines.)
