TRATUL ® ________________________ gel Antirheumatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic COMPOSITION: Each gram of TRATUL ® gel contains diclofenac deanol equivalent to 10 mg diclofenac sodium. CHARACTERISTICS: TRATUL ® gel is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparation with analgesic and antirheumatic properties. Diclofenac has been shown in experiments to inhibit prostaglandin biosynthesis and this is regarded as an important factor in its mechanism of action. TRATUL ® gel gives soothing and cooling effect when rubbed into the skin. In inflammation of traumatic or rheumatic origin, TRATUL ® gel has been shown to relieve pain, reduce oedema and shorten the time to return of normal function. INDICATIONS: - Localized rheumatic diseases e.g. osteoarthritis of the spine and peripheral joints. - Localized forms of soft tissue rheumatism e.g. tenosynovitis, shoulder-hand syndrome, bursitis and periarthropathy. - Post-traumatic inflammation of the ligaments, tendons, muscles, and joints, e.g., due to sprains, strains or bruises. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, 2-4 g TRATUL ® gel (cherry- to walnut- sized amount, which is enough for an area of about 400-800 cm 2 ) should be applied 3-4 times daily to the affected sites and gently rubbed in. TRATUL ® gel can also be used as an adjunct with other dosage forms of TRATUL ® . The duration of the treatment depends on the indication and the patient’s response. It is advisable to review the treatment after two weeks. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to diclofenac, acetylsalicylic acid, other NSAIDs, propylene glycol or isopropanol. DRUG INTERACTIONS: No drug interactions have been reported yet. CAUTIONARY ADVICE AND INFORMATION TO THE PATIENT: - Diclofenac gel should be applied only to intact skin not to broken skin or open wounds, it should not come into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes. - If diclofenac gel is applied to large areas for prolonged periods, systemic side effects might appear. - CHILDREN Belgenin tamamını okuyun
