SYNTHOMYCINE 5%
Eye Ointment
Composition: Chloramphenicol 5%
Inactive ingredients: Vaseline yellow, Lanoline Anhydrous.
Therapeutic class: Antibacterial of chloramphenicol class.
Therapeutic activity: To treat superficial eye infections, including
those in the conjunctive sac and cornea, caused by microorganisms
sensitive to chloramphenicol.
When should the preparation not be used?
Do not use this medicine if you are sensitive to any of its
ingredients
or to other medicines containing chloramphenicol.
Do not use this medicine without consulting a doctor before
starting treatment:
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you suffer or have suffered in the past from dysfunction of the
blood system - dysfunction of the bone marrow.
Warnings: If you are sensitive to any type of food or medicine, inform
your doctor before commencing treatment with this medicine.
Drug interactions: If you are taking another drug concomitantly
or if you have just finished treatment with another medicine, inform
the attending doctor, in order to prevent hazards or lack of efficacy
arising from drug interactions.
Side effects: In addition to the desired effect of the medicine,
adverse
reactions may occur during the course of using this medicine, for
example: blurring of vision and burning sensation in eye.
Side effects that require special attention:
Lowered blood count which is signified by paleness, fever, sore
throat, local irritation, rash or inflammation (that did not exist
before
beginning treatment with this preparation) (rare): stop treatment and
consult a doctor.
Side effects that first appear after finishing treatment: fever, sore
throat, consult a doctor immediately.
In the event that yo
