Date of revision WHAT SISALON 50 IS USED FOR Sisalon 50 is used for treatment for symptoms of depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and social phobia, and in preventing relapse of the mentioned medical conditions. HOW SISALON 50 WORKS Sisalon contains the active ingredient Sertraline and is one of a group of medicines called Selective Serotonin Re- uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs); Serotonin is one of the chemicals in your brain which helps control your mood. Sertraline blocks the reabsorption of serotonin by the nerve cells, thereby increasing the amount of serotonin in your brain. BEFORE YOU USE SISALON 50 - _When you must not use it _ • If you are allergic to Sertraline or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Ingredients) • If you are taking or have taken medicines called Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOI). • If you are taking medicine called Pimozide (a medicine for mental disorders such as psychosis). • If you are children. _ _ _Pregnancy and lactation _ _ _ Do not take Sisalon 50 if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or think you may be pregnant. Do not take Sisalon 50 if you are breast- feeding.
