WHAT QURVION C TABLET IS USED FOR
It is used as a health supplement.
HOW QURVION C TABLET WORKS
Qurvion
C
Tablet
is
essential
for
the
formation of collagen and protein, and
hence for the development of cartilage,
bone, and teeth, and for the healing of
wounds.
BEFORE YOU TAKE QURVION C TABLET
_-When you must not use it: _
Do not take Qurvion C Tablet if allergic
to vitamin C or any ingredients in the
tablets.

_- Before you start to use it: _
Inform the doctor or pharmacist if you
have kidney problems, especially history
of kidney stones, or you are undergoing
haemodialysis.
_-Taking other medicines: _
Tell your doctor if you are taking any
other medicines, including any that you
buy
without
a
prescription
from
a
pharmacy,
supermarket or health
food
shop.
HOW TO TAKE QURVION C TABLET
_- How to take it_
Adults: 200mg to 500 mg a day
_-When to take it :_
To be taken as prescribed by physician
after meals.

_-How long to take it :_
Continue taking Qurvion C Tablet as long
as your doctor recommended.
_-If you forget to take it :_
Take
the
missed
dose
as
soon
as
you
remember. If it is almost time for your next
dose, wait until then to take the medicine
and skip the missed dose. Do not take a
double dose to make up for the missed
dose.
_-If you take too much (overdose) :_
Contact your doctor immediately or go to
the Emergency Department of your nearest
hospital

Description
Vitamin C tablet 100 mg : Yellow coloured ovel tablet.
Vitamin C tablet 250 mg : Orange coloured round tablet.
Pharmacology
Ascorbic acid is an essential requirement for various metabolic
pathways in the biological
systems. In particular, it regulates intracellular respiration and
metabolism, stimulates the maturation of elements of
the blood, the formation of interstitial substances and defence
mechanisms against infections and intoxications.
Indication
Indicated in the treatment of Vitamin C deficiency. Ascorbic acid
tablet is useful in the following conditions :
Chronic hemodialysis, gastrointestinal diseases, tuberculosis, cancer,
peptic ulcer, hyperthyroidism, fever, stress,
infection, trauma, burns, smoking or cold exposure, following surgery;
in infants receiving unfortified formulas,
pregnancy and lactation.
Warning / Precautions
The use of this medication must be carefully considered when the
following medical problems
existed : Gout; hyperoxaluria, urate renal stones, diabetes mellitus,
glucose 6-phosphate
dehydrogenase deficiency, hemochromatosis; sideroblastic anemia,
thalassemia and sickle cell
anemia.
Drug interaction
Ascorbic acid may interact with the following :
Anti-coagulants oral, barbiturates; primidone, cellulose sodium
phosphate, disulfiram and salicylates.
Adverse effect
Withdrawal scurvy may occur after prolonged administration of 2 - 3 gm
per day. Occasionally,
prolonged used of high doses of ascorbic acid may cause precipitation
of urate, cystine or oxalate
stones in the urinary tract. Those indicating need for medical
attention includes diarrhoea, flushing or redness of skin,
