This small device (flow nozzle ) made from a special plastic, is 50mm long with a bend at about its middle and is 2mm in diameter. It should be used only once. It is for syringing ears to remove ear wax and should be used by Registered Medical practitioners and Nurses only, after reading the detailed instructions supplied with each nozzle, including a diagram and when NOT to syringe an ear. The nozzle should be attached firmly to a clean 10 ml, single use plastic syringe with a 'Luer lock'and clean water at body temperature should then be drawn into the syringe. The operator should then insert into the ear canal (which is 25mm deep) the furthermost 10 to 15 mm of the nozzle (from its tip) and douche the ear canal gently and repeatedly until all the wax has been removed. The nozzle ( and the syringe) should then be discarded. This method of ear syringing is much safer, simpler and cleaner than using the traditional metal ear syringe.
