STATEMENTS:
CANVAC 3 vaccine contains living attenuated distemper virus

continuous cell lines and freeze-dried. Each batch conforms to
accepted standards for
safety, potency, purity and freedom from abnormal toxicity.
CLAIMS:
For the protection of dogs against canine distemper, infectious canine
hepatitis, canine
parvovirus and respiratory disease caused by canine adenovirus type 2.
Canvac 3 provides cross-protection against CPV-2, CPV-2a, and CPV-2b
virus subtypes.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
This product should not be used in pregnant bitches or in puppies less
than 6 weeks of
age. Dogs should not be vaccinated when they are:
1. incubating an infectious disease;
2. seriously debilitated by another infectious disease, parasitic
infestation or malnutrition; or
3. under treatment with immunosuppressive drugs.
PRECAUTIONS:
Successful immunisation depends on an adequate amount of viable virus
being present in
the reconstituted vaccine at the time of injection. This can be
ensured only if the vaccine is
stored at the stipulated temperature.
The vaccine may be reconstituted in the diluent at room temperature. RLP APPROVED
Care should be taken not to contaminate the needle or vial during
reconstitution and
injection. The vaccine must not be exposed to, or contaminated by,
alcohols or other
disinfectants as this could inactivate the living virus.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Systemic allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis are thought to occur
rarely with all
