CHE COS’È PRAVASTATINA ARISTO E A CHE COSA SERVE
Pravastatina
Aristo
appartiene
ad
un
gruppo
di
farmaci
chiamati
inibitori
dell’idrossimetilglutaril-CoA reduttasi (HMG-CoA reduttasi) (o
statine) che servono a ridurre la
produzione nel corpo di “colesterolo cattivo” e ad aumentare i
livelli di “colesterolo buono”. Il
colesterolo è un sostanza grassa che può causare malattia cardiaca
coronarica ostruendo i vasi
che portano il sangue al cuore. Questa condizione, chiamata
indurimento delle arterie o
aterosclerosi, può portare a dolori al petto (angina pectoris),
attacco di cuore (infarto del
miocardio) o ictus.
Se ha già avuto un attacco di cuore o soffre di dolori al petto a
riposo (angina pectoris
instabile), Pravastatina Aristo riduce il rischio di avere un altro
attacco di cuore o di ictus nel
prossimo futuro, indipendentemente dai suoi livelli di colesterolo.
Se ha livelli elevati di colesterolo ma non soffre di malattia

_ IPERCOLESTEROLEMIA_
Trattamento dell’ipercolesterolemia primaria della dislipidemia
mista in aggiunta a
trattamento dietetico idoneo, nei casi in cui la risposta alla dieta e
ad altre misure non
farmacologiche ( ad es. attività fisica, riduzione del peso) sia
inadeguata.
