PHARMACODYNAMICS
Diclazuril has potent anticoccidial activity even at low levels. It is
effective against second-generation schizonts and sexual stages
of _ Eimeria tenella_, _ E. necatrix_, _ E. acervulina_, _ E.
brunetti_, and _ E. _
_mivati_. Diclazuril is effective against _ E. maxima_ later in its
life
cycle. It also inhibits sporulation of oocyst. It is effective against
_E. _
_tenella_ that has become resistant to other anticoccidial drugs.
PHARMACOKINETICS
The
drug
is
poorly
absorbed.
Peak
plasma
concentration
is
attained within 6 hours in chicken
INDICATION
As an aid in the prevention of coccidiosis caused by _ Eimeria _
_acervulina_, _ E. brunetti_, _ E. maxima_, _ E. mitis_, _ E.
necatrix_ and _ E. _
_tenella_ in broiler chickens.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral
RECOMMENDED DOSE
Broiler Chickens: 1 mg/kg (milligram per kilogram) (0.0001%) of
diclazuril in the complete feed. Feed this medicated feed as the
sole ration from one day of age up until slaughter.
To obtain the recommended level of 0.0001% of diclazuril in the
complete feed, PF Diclazuril Premix should be mixed thoroughly
with the feed at the rate of 200 grams per metric tonne. It is
recommended that a premix be made from PF Diclazuril Premix
before final mixing. It is suggested to premix 200 grams of PF
Diclazuril Premix with 20-50 kg of a feed ingredient
