MRSA Select II is a selective and differential chromogenic medium for the qualitative detection and direct identification of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The test is performed: - from anterior nares specimens from patients at risk of carriage to screen for MRSA colonization to aid in the prevention and control of MRSA infections in healthcare settings. - from skin and soft tissue specimens or from wounds to aid in the diagnosis of MRSA infection. This medium does not replace conventional antimicrobial susceptibility tests for the diagnosis of methicillin resistance.
