These tablets contain the active ingredient, a

acid. Ascorbic acid is the chemical name for

C. The tablets can be used to increase the amount

Vitamin C Tablets are used to treat Vitamin C
deficiency including the prevention and treatment of
scurvy.

2. Qualitative and quantitative composition
Each tablet contains 500mg of ascorbic acid.

Lactose monohydrate

3. Pharmaceutical form
Tablet.
White to off-white convex tablets.
4. Clinical particulars
4.1 Therapeutic indications
Prevention and treatment of scurvy.
4.2 Posology and method of administration
Posology
_Adults and children over 6 years:_
Prophylactic: 25 – 75 mg daily.
Note: This unit dosage form is unsuitable for prophylactic use.
Therapeutic: Not less than 250mg daily in divided doses. Maximum of
1000mg daily.
_Children under 6 years:_
This unit dosage form is unsuitable for children under 6 years.
_Elderly: _As for other adults. As the dietary intake of vitamin C may
be less in the elderly,
