WHAT ZENTEL SUSPENSION IS USED FOR
Treatment of single or mixed infestations
of intestinal parasites.
HOW ZENTEL SUSPENSION WORKS
Albendazole is a benzimidazole
carbamate with antiprotozoal and
antihelmintic effects against intestinal
and tissue parasites. Albendazole
exhibits larvicidal, ovicidal and
vermicidal activity, and is thought to
exert its antihelmintic effect by inhibiting
tubulin polymerization. This causes the
disruption of the helminth metabolism,
including energy depletion, which
immobilizes and kills the susceptible
helminth.
BEFORE YOU USE ZENTEL SUSPENSION

_When you must not use it _
Not to be used in children aged under 1
year.
Albendazole is contraindicated in
patients with a known history of
hypersensitivity to albendazole or other
constituents of the dose forms.
Do not take Zentel Suspension if you are
pregnant, trying to get pregnant or think
you may be pregnant.
Do not take Zentel Suspension if you are
breast-feeding. Ask your doctor or
pharmacist for advice before taking any
medicine.

_Before you start use it _
Check with your doctor before use if you
have liver or kidney problems. Women
of childbearing age should begin
treatment during the first 10 days of
starting their period, or immediately after
a negative pregnancy test, in order to
avoid taking this medicine during early
pregnancy.

_Taking other medicines _
Tell your doctor if you are taking any
other medicines, including any that you
buy without a prescription from a
pharmacy, supermarket or health food
shop. Some medications and this product
can interfere with each other.

Product Description
A white suspension with an orange flavour and odour.
Indication:
Treatment of single or mixed infestations of intestinal parasites.
Dosage & Route of Administration
Oral administration. Shake well before use.
No special procedures, such as fasting or purging, are required.
If the patient is still symptomatic after a single course of
treatment, they
must consult a Healthcare Professional for further treatment.
The maximum duration of treatment will vary according to the
indication.
Please refer below for information on maximum doses for each
indication.
Do not exceed the maximum daily doses and treatment durations
recommended.
Not to be used in children aged under 1-year.
Dosage:
For roundworm, whipworm, hookworm and pinworm
Adults and children above 24 months: One full bottle as a single dose.
Children 12 - 24 months: Take half the adult dose.
For threadworm and tapeworm
Adults and children above 24 months: One full bottle as a single dose
once a day for 3 consecutive days.
Contraindications
Albendazole must not be used during pregnancy.
Albendazole is contraindicated in patients with a known history of
hypersensitivity to
albendazole or other constituents of the dose forms.
Warnings & Precautions
If you develop severe headache, nausea and vomiting, fits and/or
problems with
your vision after taking this medicine, consult a Healthcare
Professional
immediately.
This medicine may cause liver problems. Please consult a Healthcare
Professional if you experience yellowing of the skin or eyes.
If you have been diagnosed with liver or kidney problems, seek advice
from
a Healthcare Professional before taking this medicine.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children/ Jauhkan daripada

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes, mouth or nose, as albendazole
suspension
may cause irritation.
