A formulated ointment/balm that is placed onto the skin including lips, in order to provide moisture and/or create a protective barrier. It is typically used to alleviate conditions such as dry, irritated, flaky or cracked skin, denuded red / abraded skin, and may also be used by individuals who typically suffer extremely dry skin and/or suboptimal / compromised skin barrier health, for example in conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, cold sores, abrasions, dry feet & heels, chapped lips etc. It may come in a variety of packaging and may be used routinely or occasionally as merited by the symptoms
