Lanette O (8.00 %), Emulgin B2(1.00 %), White petrolatum (12.00 %),

ABOUT YOUR MEDICINE
The name of your medicine is SILVEZIN Cream. It is white to off-white,
cream containing
1% w/w Silver Sulfadiazine.
WHAT IS YOUR MEDICINE FOR?
Your medicine is an antibacterial cream used to prevent or treat
bacterial infections in burns.
It can also help treat bacterial infections in leg ulcers or pressure
sores for short periods of
time and
to prevent
bacterial
infections
in skin
graft donor sites and large
abrasions.
SILVEZIN Cream can also treat finger-tip injuries where nail loss or
partial loss of the end of
the finger has occurred.
BEFORE USING YOUR MEDICINE
:

Are you allergic to any of the ingredients of SILVEZIN Cream?

Are you allergic to sulphonamide treatment?

Are you pregnant or breast feeding?

Do you suffer from kidney or liver problems?

Do
you
suffer
a
deficiency
of
the
enzyme
known
as
Glucose-6-Phosphate
Dehydrogenase?

Are you taking tablets prescribed by your doctor to control epilepsy
or diabetes?

Are you using a biological product to remove dead tissue from the leg
ulcer or
wound before using SILVEZIN?
If the answer to any of these questions is YES then consult your
doctor or pharmacist before
using your medicine.
Do not use SILVEZIN Cream on premature babies or on newborn children
within the first
few months of life.
USING YOUR MEDICINE
:
Normally apply the cream in which case the following directions apply:
BURNS:
The burn should first be cleaned. Apply a 3-5 mm layer of SILVEZIN
Cream to the
burned area using gloves or spatula. Cover the area with a non-stick
dressing.
HAND BURNS:
Once SILVEZIN Cream has been applied as above, the hand may be
enclosed
in a plastic bag or glove. The hand and fingers should be moved as
much as possible.
