Active ingredient: magnesium orotate dihydrate 500 mg

QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION
1 tablet contains:
Active ingredient: 500 mg magnesium orotate dihydrate,
corresponding to 2.7 mval, 1.35 mmol or 32.8 mg of magnesium
Excipients with known effect:
One tablet contains 50.0 mg lactose monohydrate and 2.5 mg sodium.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
Magnesium deficiency

POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
The tablet should be swallowed whole with small amount of water before
meals.
2 tablets 3 times a day for 7 days, then 1 tablet 2–3 times daily.
The duration of treatment
cycle is 4-6 weeks. If necessary, Magnerot can be used for a long
time.
In case of nocturnal leg cramps it is recommended to take 2-3 tablets
in the evenings.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Increased sensitivity to ingredients of the medication, urinary stone
disease, kidney failure,
susceptibility to the formation of
calcium-magnesium-ammonium-phosphate stones, liver
cirrhosis with ascites.
Children below 18 y.o.

SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Magnerot contains lactose. Patients with rare hereditary problems of
galactose intolerance,
total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not
take this medicine.
Magnerot contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per tablet, i.e. it
is almost "sodium-
free". With a maximum daily dose of 6 tablets, less than 23 mg sodium
are supplied. Con-
sideration should be given to patients on a sodium-restricted diet.
1 mmol of sodium (Na) = 23 mg Na = 58.4 mg salt (NaCl). Information
relates to a thresold
based on the total amount of sodium in the medicinal product. It is
especially relevant to
products used in children or in patients on a low sodium diet, to
provide information to pre-
scribers and reassurance to parents or patients concerning the low
level of sodium in the
product.
