Revised: March 2010 (ATCVet code amended) SUMMARY OF PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS 1. Name of the Veterinary Medicinal Product: Johnson's Antiseptic Wound Powder 2% w/w, Cutaneous powder 2. Qualitative and Quantitative Composition: Active Ingredient: Tosylchloramide Sodium 2% w/w For full list of excipients, see section 6.1. 3. Pharmaceutical form: Cutaneous powder. A fine, white powder with odour characteristic of chloramine. 4. Clinical particulars: 4.1 Target species: Dogs and Cats. 4.2 Indications for use, specifying the target species: Antiseptic dry dressing for minor wounds and abrasions of dogs and cats. 4.3 Contra-Indications: None known. 4.4 Special warnings for each target species: Topical hypersensitivity reactions may occur; rare; severity: may manifest by reddening and scaling of affected skin, eczematous exacerbation of the lesion, or as a failure to heal. Anaphylaxis may rarely occur, theoretically. Prolonged use may result in delayed healing and/or overgrowth of non- susceptible organisms. 4.5 Special precautions for use: i) Special precautions for use in animals: For external use only. If condition fails to improve within 7 days consult a veterinary surgeon. If contact with eyes occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. Avoid inhaling powder. If ingested, seek medical advice immediately. Wash hands after use. 4.6 Adverse reactions (frequency and seriousness) None reported. 4.7 Use during pregnancy, lactation or lay: No restrictions necessary. 4.8 Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction: None reported. 4.9 Amounts to be administered and administration route: As dusting powder to wounds and abrasions.
