1. WHAT TRAMAL CAPSULES ARE AND WHAT THEY ARE USED FOR
Tramadol – the active substance in Tramal Capsules – is a
centrally acting analgesic
(painkiller) belonging to the opioid group. It achieves its
pain-relieving e
ect by acting on
VSHFL¿FQHUYHFHOOVLQWKHVSLQDOFRUGDQGEUDLQ
Tramal Capsules are used for the treatment of moderately severe to
severe pain.
2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE TRAMAL CAPSULES
DO NOT TAKE TRAMAL CAPSULES,
• if you are allergic to tramadol or any of the other ingredients of
this medicine (listed in
section 6).
• in acute cases of intoxication with alcohol, sleeping pills,
painkillers or other psychotropic
agents (medicines that a ect the mood and emotions)
• if you are also taking MAO inhibitors (certain antidepressants) or
have taken them within
the last 14 days before treatment with Tramal Capsules (see “Other
medicines and
Tramal Capsules”)
• if you su er from epilepsy and this cannot be adequately
controlled by treatment
• as a replacement in drug withdrawal
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Tramal Capsules
• if you believe that you are dependent on other painkillers
(opioids);
• if your consciousness is impaired (if you feel as if you are going
to faint),
• if you are in a state of shock (cold sweats may be a sign of
this),
• if you have a condition with increased pressure on the brai
