Oblong scored beige tablet . The tablets can be divided into equal
parts .
INDICATION(S)
In cats:
Infections caused by bacteria susceptible to cefalexin
- Lower urinary tract infections due to _E.coli_ and _Proteus
mirabilis_,
-
Treatment of cutaneous and subcutaneous infections:
pyoderma due to _Staphylococcus _spp and wounds and abscesses due to
_Pasteurella_ spp .
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in case of severe kidney failure . Do not use in animals
which are known
to be hypersensitive to cephalosporins or to any other substance of
the β-lactam
group . Do not use in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and
other small rodents .
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Vomiting and/or diarrhoea have been observed .
Allergic reactions are possible
with cefalexin and allergic cross-reactivity with other β-lactams may
occur . If you
notice any serious effects or other effects not mentioned in this
leaflet, please
inform your veterinary surgeon .
TARGET SPECIES: Cats
DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE(S) AND METHOD
OF ADMINISTRATION: Oral use
15 mg cefalexin per kg bodyweight twice daily, equivalent to 1 tablet
for 5 kg
bodyweight for:
- 5 days for wounds and abscesses
- 10 to 14 days in case of urinary tract infections,
- 14 days at least in case of pyoderma .
The treatment must be continued for
10 days once the lesions have disappeared .
To ensure a correct dosage, body weight should be determined as
accurately as
possible to avoid underdosing .
In case of use of half tablets put the remaining quantity of the
tablet back into the
blister pocket and use it for the next administration .

Indicazioni per l’utilizzazione specificando le specie di
destinazione
In gatti:
Infezioni causate da germi sensibili alla cefalexina
- Infezioni delle vie urinarie inferiori dovute a E. coli e Proteus
mirabilis,
- Trattamento delle infezioni cutanee e sottocutanee: piodermite
causata da Staphylococcus spp e
ferite e ascessi causati da Pasteurella spp.

Controindicazioni
Non usare in caso di grave insufficienza renale.
Non usare in animali con nota ipersensibilità alle cefalosporine o ad
altre sostanze appartenenti al
gruppo dei -lattamici.
Non usare in conigli, cavie, criceti, gerbilli ed altri piccoli
roditori.
Il prodotto è controindicato in caso di nota resistenza alla
cefalexina.

Precauzioni speciali per l’impiego
Precauzioni speciali per l’impiego negli animali
Come per altri antibiotici che sono eliminati principalmente dai reni,
si può verificare un fenomeno
di accumulo se la funzione renale è compromessa. In caso di nota
insufficienza renale, la dose deve
essere ridotta e/o aumentato l’intervallo di somministrazione e non
devono essere somministrati
contemporaneamente farmaci nefrotossici.
Se possibile, il prodotto deve essere usato in base ai risultati dei
test di sensibilità.
Durante l’uso del prodotto è necessario attenersi ai regolamenti
ufficiali e locali sull’uso di prodotti
antimicrobici.
