DESCRIPTION Nobilis EDS contains one immunogenic strain of EDS ’76 virus and is inactivated with formalin. Subsequently it has been suspended in the aqueous phase of an oil adjuvant emulsion. COMPOSITION Active component per 0.5 mL dose: EDS ’76 virus strain BC14; inducing 6.5 log 2 HI units. INDICATION Active immunisation to provide protection against Egg Drop Syndrome ’76. RECOMMENDED VACCINATION PROGRAMME Nobilis EDS should be administered to birds from 16-20 weeks of age but not less than 4 weeks before the expected onset of lay. Duration of immunity: one laying period. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION BY LAW THE USER MUST TAKE DUE CARE, OBTAINING EXPERT ADVICE WHEN NECESSARY, TO AVOID UNNECESSARY PAIN AND DISTRESS WHEN USING THE PRODUCT OTHER THAN AS DIRECTED ON THE LABEL. Each bird should be injected with 0.5 mL of vaccine intramuscularly in the thigh or chest muscle or subcutaneously into the lower part of the neck. • Vaccinate healthy birds only. • Before using vaccine allow it to reach ambient temperature (15 C-25 C). • Shake the bottle well before use and periodically during use. • Use sterile injection equipment. • Use the entire contents when first opened. • Do not mix with any other veterinary medicines. VACCINATION REACTIONS In healthy birds no clinical reaction to vaccination will be observed. For some weeks after vaccination a slight swelling may be felt at the site of vaccination. Local tissue reactions may occur. WITHHOLDING PERIODS Nil. HANDLING PRECAUTIONS ACCIDENTAL SELF-INJECTION TO USER This product contains mineral oil. Accidental self-injection may result in severe pain and swelling, particularly if injection into a joint of a finger.
