WHAT MOXIFCIN IS USED FOR
MOXIFCIN is used in patients aged 18
years old and above for the treatment of
bacterial infections caused by bacteria
susceptible to moxifloxacin.
HOW MOXIFCIN WORKS
MOXIFCIN works by killing bacteria
that cause infections.
BEFORE YOU USE MOXIFCIN
_- When you must not use it_
Do not use MOXIFCIN:
•
If you are allergy to Moxifloxacin,
other quinolone antibiotics or any
components in this medicine
•
If you are under 18 years of age
•
If you have previously had problems
with your tendons related to
quinolone antibiotics treatment
•
If you have severe liver disease or
increased liver enzymes
•
If you are born with or have:

Any condition with abnormal
heart rhythm (as in ECG)

Salt imbalance in the blood
(especially low levels of
potassium in the blood)

A very slow heart rhythm
(bradycardia)

A weak heart (heart failure)

A history of abnormal heart
rhythm or if you are taking other
medicines that result in
abnormal ECG changes.
-Pregnancy and lactation

Do not take MOXIFCIN if you are
pregnant, trying to get pregnant or
think you may be pregnant.
•
Do not take MOXIFCIN if you are
breast-feeding. Ask your doctor or
pharmacist for advice before
taking any medicine.
Do not take this medicine after the expiry
date printed on the pack or if the packaging
is torn or shows sign of tampering. If it has
expired or is damaged, return it to your
pharmacist for disposal.
