Date of revision WHAT MELOX IS USED FOR MELOX tablets are used to treat: - Symptomatic treatment of painful osteoarthritis (arthrosis, degenerative joint disease) - Symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis(inflammation in rheumatic disease) - Symptomatic treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (chronic inflammatory disease of the skeleton) Your doctor may, however, prescribe MELOX for another reason. Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why MELOX has been prescribed for you. HOW MELOX WORKS MELOX is an anti-inflammatory medicine with pain-killing and fever- reducing properties. It belongs to a group of medicines known as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). BEFORE YOU USE MELOX _- When you must not use it _ DO NOT TAKE MELOX IF: - you are in the last three months of pregnancy or if you are breastfeeding - you are allergic (hypersensitive) to meloxicam or any other ingredient of the tablet - you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) or other anti- inflammatory medicine (NSAID) - you have ever suffered from wheezing, nasal polyps (nasal obstruction due to swellings in the lining in your nose) along with a runny nose, swelling (angioedema) of the skin, urticarial (nettle rash) when taking acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) or other anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID) - you have or have ever had a recurrent gastrointestinal ulcer or bleeding (ulcer or bleeding of the stomach or intestines) - you have ever had a gastrointestinal bleeding (bleeding in the stomach or intestines) related to previous NSAIDs therapy - you have serious liver disease - you have serious kidney disease and are not undergoing dialysis - you have severe heart failure - you are a Preberite celoten dokument
