                                CARE ANTISEPTIC FIRST AID
CREAM
(cetrimide)
READ ALL THE LEAFLET BEFORE YOU USE THIS
MEDICINE. IT INCLUDES INFORMATION WHICH MIGHT
BE ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT FOR YOU.
• Keep this leaflet. You may need to read it
again.
• Ask your pharmacist if you need any more
information or advice.
• If you notice any side effects not listed in this
leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
1. WHAT THE MEDICINE IS FOR
Care Antiseptic First Aid Cream contains
cetrimide which has antibacterial properties.
The cream is used to treat minor burns, grazes
and nappy rash.
2. BEFORE YOU USE THIS
MEDICINE
DO NOT USE THE MEDICINE IF YOU OR
YOUR CHILD HAVE ….
• An ALLERGY to any of the ingredients listed in
section 6.
TAKE SPECIAL CARE WITH THIS MEDICINE ....
• Avoid contact with the eyes.
• For external application to the skin. Do not
use in body cavities.
PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING….
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice
before using this medicine if you are pregnant,
might be pregnant or are breastfeeding.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SOME
OF THE INGREDIENTS
• This product contains cetostearyl alcohol
which may cause local skin reactions
(e.g. contact dermatitis).
• It also contains chlorocresol which may cause
allergic reactions (rash, itching, wheezing).
3. HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE
Apply it to the skin.
ADULTS, THE ELDERLY AND CHILDREN
• Apply directly to the affected area.
IF YOU SWALLOW SOME
If you accidentally swallow some, see a doctor
straight away. Take the pack with you to show
which medicine you have swallowed.
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Care Antiseptic First Aid
Cream can have side effects although these
don’t affect everyone. Possible side effects are:
• Skin irritation.
• Long term or frequent use of this product
may cause an allergy to cetrimide.
If you notice these or any other side effects,
stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist.
They will tell you what to do.
5. STORING THIS MEDICINE
• Keep it out of the
reach
and
sight
of children.

4. Clinical particulars
4.1 Therapeutic indications
For use in minor burns, napkin rash and abrasions.
4.2 Posology and method of administration
Topical: Apply directly to the affected part.
This product is suitable for adults, children, and the elderly.
4.3 Contraindications
Contra-indicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cetrimide.
4.4 Special warnings and precautions for use
Prolonged and repeated applications of cetrimide to the skin may lead
to hypersensitivity. Avoid contact
with eyes. For external use only; not for use in body cavities.
Antiseptic First Aid Cream contains the excipients cetostearyl alcohol
which may cause local skin
reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis) and chlorocresol which may cause
allergic reactions.
Labels to state: FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

4.9 Overdose
Overdose by the recommended route of administration is considered
unlikely. Ingestion may cause
