WWW.JUROX.COM.AU Customer Service 1800 023 312 ® Registered Trademark of Jurox Pty Ltd TECHNICAL NOTES ACTIVE CONSTITUENTS Clenbuterol hydrochloride 21.44 µg/g Sulfadiazine 335 mg/g Trimethoprim 67 mg/g ACTIONS Oral bronchodilator and antibacterial for respiratory disease in horses. Clenbuterol is a sympathomimetic amine that blocks the β2-receptor sites in the body which include those in the lungs and uterus. This allows for maximum bronchodilation with increased pulmonary ventilation and mucociliary clearance without significant effects on the cardiovascular system. The antibacterial agents trimethoprim and sulfadiazine, which have a synergistic action, inhibit the production of folic acid and the conversion of folic acid to folinic acid. This stops the bacteria producing purine, RNA and DNA and thus has a bactericidal effect. INDICATIONS Treatment of respiratory disease in horses caused by organisms susceptible to the trimethoprim/sulfadiazine combination. Treatment of respiratory conditions characterised by constriction of the airways including bronchospasm and obstruction resulting from bacterial and viral infection, bronchitis and bronchopneumonia. Indicated whenever bronchodilation and antibacterial protection is desirable. CONTRAINDICATIONS NOT TO BE USED in food producing animals. PRECAUTIONS Broncopulmin Plus TMPS Oral Powder should not be used in horses during the last 14 days of gestation as uterine contractions may be prevented.
